GOLDEN POINT GOLDMINING COMPANY.

Mr. Reeves, M.H.R., who has been on a visit to the above company's claim, has furnished a report of his inspection to the manager of the company, Mr. W. E. S. Hickson, which will doubtless be read with satisfaction by the many shareholders in the company in this city. We believe that Mr. Reeves' visit was at the instance of a number of gentlemen at Nelson, who had determined te °take up shares in the company, in the event of his report being a favorable one. The following copy of the report will speak for itself : _ , " Wellington, Feb. 23. " W. E. S. Hickson, Esq., Manager, Golden " Point Goldmining Company. " Dear Sir, —Last week I visited your mine at Golden Point, and have the honor to report as follows :—ln the 40ft. level there is a good strong well-defined reef, 3ft. Gin. in width, which seems to be making as it goes down. The manager has sunk 15ft. on the lode. The stone is of a very payable nature, and should give returns of fully an ounce to the ton. In the GOft. level the reef is equally well defined, having good solid hanging and footwalls, and it shows conclusively that you have got into solid country. The stone in the lower level is of superior quality to that in the 40ft., although I am inclined to think it is the same lode, the bearing being the same, viz., N.W. and S.E. I should recommend the further sinking of the 60ft. shaft at least another 30ft. By this means you will have 90ft. of backs, and can at once stope out, when there should be nothing to prevent your battery being kept in continuous work for a length of time ; in fact, bar accidents, you would have twelve months' work before you with the stone actually exposed, and the quartz can be won at a very small cost per ton as soon as the mine is opened up. I tested several parcels of stone in which gold was not visible, and in every case got first-rate prospects, fully over an ounce to the ton. On the whole, I was very much pleased with my visit, and congratulate the shareholders in possessing a really first rate and highly valuable property." _ ,_ (Signed) Richard Reeves.
