The harvest laborers in some parts of Kent have, during the last few days, been worried by a swarm of gnats of unusually large size, which arc supposed to be mosquitoes or an Indian tribe of gnats. Some two years ago a similar insect annoyed the harvestmen in Kent until a slight frost.
