May 2H William Joyce, better known as "Lord Haw Haw," the Nazi broadcaster, has been arrested by the British Second Army. Joyce's wife has also been captured. No further details are available, but the arrests were the result of a widesproßcl search, in which everybody moving through the British Second Army area was closely interrogated. Joyce's last broadcast from Germany was heard in Britain on April 30. He was at the height of his popularity with his Nazi masters during Britain's dark days in 1940 and 1941. When the tide turned his stock tell and his voice was heard less often , According to his own biography, Joyce wu» born in New York of Irish parentage and educated in Ireland and England He was a prominent member of the British Union of Fascists and left lor Germany just before war broke out
