VARIETY OF FIXTURES RACES AT ELLERSLIE Of the variety of sporting fixtures offering in Auckland today, the principal one is the first day of the Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting at Ellerslie. With good weather, thousands of Aucklanders and holiday visitors will probably visit the racecourse for the meeting which is the club's main fixture of the year. , _ . The cricket match between the Waikato Association and the Auckland City and Suburban Association representatives which commenced at the Domain yesterday will be continued. The annual Christmas handicap tournament of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, which commenced last Saturday, will be concluded at the Stanley Street courts today. The Auckland Bowling Centre s annual Christmas tourney will commence today and will continue until Saturday.
