Cricket competitions will be continued in Auckland this afternoon. In the principal match at Kden Park in the Auckland Association's championship Middlemore totalled 203 against Parncll No. 0, which lost one wicket for three rnns. Eden-Ponsonby-Balrnoral made IW'i against University, the latter losing two wickets for 19. Air Force was dimissed for 105 by Grafton-Y.M.C.A., which replied with 157 for two wickets. North Shore was all out for 143 in the same at Devonport with Purnell No. 1. The latter compiled 11G for ono wicket. Suburban matches will bo played at the Domain and women's games at Melville Park. Sports day will be held at Carlaw Park unrte>r the control of the Auckland Girls' Athletic Association. The heats have already been decided and the finals will be commenced at two o'clock this afternoon. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, the Victoria Cruising Club, and the Takapuna Boatinpr Club will hold races off Westhaven. The Victoria Cruising Club will have class racing, the first event starting at 2.10 p.m. The Takapuna Boating Club will decide the first of the Cornwell Cup trials to select the crew to represent Auckland. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron is staging a special invitation race for (he Ifift M class, in which the five yachts built for recreational use in the Islands for the United States Army Air Corps will compete with the local boats of this class. The race will start at 3 p.m. from the Victoria Cruising Club's starting line. SCHOOL BOXING Marist Brotner9' Sohool.—The annual championships of the Marist Brothers' School. Vermont Street, were held at Leys Institute gymnasium. The tournament was under the control of the Auckland Boxing Association. The contestants had been coached by the association's instructor, Mr C. Linden, and also by the well-known heavy-weight M. Mcßugli A high standard was shown and soinp stirring contests took place.
