EISENHOWER IN FRANCE LOCATED IN ORCHARD AREA (Reed. (J.lO p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 10 General Eisenhower has moved his headquarters from Britain to France. The Combined Press correspondent at an advanced command post of Supreme Headquarters says that Supreme Headquarters are situated near an airport and are comfortably laid out in orchard country. General Eisenhower, when at his headquarters in Britain, made ten flights to France. General Eisenhower uses an aerodrome adjacent to his new headquarters for daily (lights to confer with General .Montgomery and General Bradley. He saw tlirm both yesterday, and they gave highly favourable; reports on the ! progress of the renewed drive from Caen and the tank actions on the western and southern ends of the Allied front. Telephonic communication with Supreme Headquarters and London is available from General Eisnchowcr's living quarters in a trailer, which is under a 21-hour guard by military police, who squat in a dug-out behind a machiuegun. FRENCH PATRIOTS BORDEAUX REPORTED HELD RHONE VALLEY ACTIVITY (Reed. 5.3") p.m.) LONDON, Aw?. 9 French patriots have taken over Bordeaux, according to unconfirmed reports reaching the Spanish frontier quoted by the British United Press correspondent at San Sebastian. GERMAN EQUIPMENT ALL OF HIGH QUALITY LONDON, Auk. !• The quality of German salvaged equipment is every bit as good as American equipment and far superior to much of the British, states an Associated' Press correspondent after viewing a dump in Xormandv where helmets, greatcoats, field jackets, underwear, belts and other gear were heaped up. A clothing expert at the dump, referring to a private's greatcoat, said: "This is finest quality cloth. I have not seen ersatz equipment of any kind and we have pretty well everything here.
