PUBLIC NOTICES The central waikato electricpower BOARD. THE ELECTRIC WATER-HEATING ORDER, 1943. NOTICE TO CONSUMERS. In pursuance and exercise of the, powers contained in the above Order and with the approval of the Price Investigation Tribunal in collaboration with the Electricity Controller the Board has prescribed the following special rates to be charged for electricity within its area of supply:— WATER-HEATERS.—I. Restricted hours (20 hours) with or without electric range in house or motor in dairy shed: 48 units per 10P watts at 5-19 d per unit gross, subject to a maximum of 675 units per month for dairy shed installations and 600 units per month for all other installations. Balance of units at / 3 d per unit gross. ... , , ? Unrestricted hours, with or without electric'range in house or motor in dairy shed: All units at %d per unit gross. Minimum charges: Restricted hours, 9d per 100 watts per month gross; unrestricted hours, 1/4 per 100 wafcte per month gross. In respect of dairy sheds no minimum charge will be rendered for a period of not less than two months upon notice having been given in writing by consumer that water-heater installations may be disconnected. No charge will be made by the Board for such disconnections. _ ■ _ 8. TEMPORARY DOMESTIC RATE pending the separate metering of all domestic water-heaters: Present domestic ariff of first 12 units per month at 4d; next 80 units per month at l%d; next SO units per month at Id. Balance per month at 3 /« d. With minimum charge of 2/3 per month to stand, with waterheater block of units at 5-lßd per unit interposed after the first 02 units per month, block to be computed as follows: Restricted hours, 48 units pgr 100 watts per month; unrestricted hours, OS units per 100 watts per month; with minimum water-heater charge as above stated. In respect of all the foregoing rates consumers' accounts to be less 5 p.c. discount if paid within 14 days (5-19 d less 5 p.c. discount ■=■ y,d net, the minimum price allowed under the above Order). Pursuant to Section 4 (1 and 2) of the Electric Water-heating Order, 1013, the Board requires the owner of any water-heating service for the operation of which electricity Is supplied by the Board, to alter the waterheating service so that the supply of electricity for each service is controlled by a thermostat and is also measured by a meter. The above charges will come into force on January 1, 1944, or as soon thereafter as the necessary metering is installed. A circular giving fuller information will be forwarded to those concerned as soon as a supply of thermostats is available and the work can be proceeded with.—Dated at Hamilton this 22nd day of December, 1943.
