The Greedy Pig
Original story, by AVONNE ROGERS (13), D.M.B.G. MRS. PRUNELLA PIG was £ernbly IVJ fat and greedy. Every day she poked the others away from the trough and drank nearly all the milk herself. "Oh, well, greedy, you'll see what happens," said the others. \ou 11 he made into Christmas hams if you don't look out." "Pooh!" scoffed Mrs. Pig as she walked away and poked her nose through a hole in the fence, making it larger. "Those look nice,"' she thought, greedilv, as she made her way into a sack of potatoes. One day, a few weeks before Christinas, Farmer Jones and his landgirl, Betty, came over to look at all the pigs- 2 ,, '•They're not very fat, are they . said. Betty. When Mrs, Pig heard this she said to the others, "Make way for me, I'll show her how fat I am. And she pushed her way forward and stood grunting and -rooting the ground right in front of Mr. Jones and Betty. "Why, Betty!" exclaimed Farmer Jones, "here's a fine fat pig. Shell sell well, and we can have our Christmas holidavs after all." A few days later a lorry came and took Mrs. Pig away "Didn't we tell you something would happen ?" jeered the others, amid her grunts and squeals.
