AUCKLAND EXCHANGE GOVERNMENT STOCKS FIRM There was some improvement on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, more buyers coming in and covering a- wider range of securities. Government issues were exceedingly firm and several parcels were placed at higher values. Insurances had a strong " demand, and for South British, now quoted ex dividend, buyers .moved up to 53s 6d, with sellers asking 55s 3d. .Bank of New Zealands were steady, a market between 37s 3d and o7s 6d. Among local industrials Berleis were again on offer at 70s and a buyer came m at 655.
