Swift James Frederick (Flying' Officer), R A.F., previously reported missing, believed killed, death now officially presumed in September, 1941 —Mr. G. L. Waddell, Andrew McArthur (Sgt.), admitted ' to hospital with injuries received in action, not seriously ill—Mrs. D. H. Reid, Wellington (mother). ACCIDENTAL DEATH NEW ZEALAND AIRMAN Advice has been received by Mr. and Mrs- J- S. Hunter, of Waiau Pa, that their son, Sergeant-Observer Ronald Crawford Hunter, R.N.Z.A.F., aged 22, has been killed in an aircraft accident in England. Sergeant Hunter joined the Air Force at the outbreak of
trar and left for Canada in October, 1940, with the first contingent to be r trained under the Empire Air Scheme. After gaining his wings he went to England, where he took a course as an observer. He was a keen footballer and played in the Air Force team in Canada and England.
Reported missing after air operations in northern France on April 4, PilotOfficer Edward Fred Chandler is the eldest son of Mrs. A. E. Dodd, of Epsom Avenue, and the late Mr. E. F. Chandler. Pilot-Officer Chandler, who is 24, was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, where he played in the first fifteen and was school tennis champion. Afterward he played for Grammar Old Boys and was selected to play for the Royal New Zealand Air force in England". He was commissioned ' in Canada.
