FATHER SHOT HIMSELF
NEW YORK, Dec, 24 Believing he had failed to fulfil a death-bed promise made to his wife fifteen .years ago to rear his daughters to clean wholesome womanhood, Elia Taddi, aged 55. killed himself. Walking into a Philadelphia store Taddi saw his three daughters—Rose, aged 24, Adeline, 22, and Dolores, 20 —smoking cigarettes. He spent the night brooding over his "failure," and as dawn broke he shot himself "Father never suspected we smoked," said one of the girls.
