HEAVY TASK FOR COURT

(0.C.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday A strenuous task confronts the Arbitration Court in sifting the statements, submissions and evidence placed before it during the five-day hearing of the application for a rise in wages to meet the increased cost of living. The Court records of the case total more than 450 foolscap typed pages, with approximately 120,000 words. Every word recorded represents a spoken word as the long statements prepared by both parties were read. In addition, there was the recording of "submissions on submissions," questions and answers, and verbal enlargements of points touched upon in written statements handed in. There is no indication yet when the Court will issue its decision.
