The Parnell branch of the Lady
Gahvay Guild mot yesterday at the home of the secretary, Mrs. K. R. Turner, Paruell Road. Airs. . Seavill, convener of the sewing circle, stated that the guild had been responsible for about 500 new children's and reconditioned women's gaiynents. It had also provided about three dozen warm foot rugs and bed coverings.
SOCIAL NEWS Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, M.P., left last night for Wellington. Airs. 15. Lewis (Greymouth), Mrs. L. Palmer (Otorohanga) and Miss H. Rouse (Christchurch) are at the Station Hotel. Miss Anne Young lias returned to Auckland from Australia, where she made an extended tour of Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Miss Eva H. Jones, of Auckland, is waiting to join the Queen Alexandra Imperial Military Nursing Service, wrote our London correspondent on .July 29. She trained at the Auckland Hospital. „ , , , . . Mrs. T. H.
