GOLDEN WEDDING
PIONEER DESCENDANTS
MR. AND MRS. F. J. POTTER
The oOtli anniversary of their wedding will ho celebrated to-day by Mr. and .Mrs. Francis J, Potter, of Peary Koad. Mount Eden. A gathering of relatives and connections ol the family "ill be held to-night to mark the event. Mr. and Mrs. Potter have spent the greater part of their married life in Auckland with the exception of periods in To Arolia and Waibi, where Mr. Potter was engaged in business. Both Mr. and Mrs. Potter are descendants ot pioneer families, Mrs. Potter, who was formerly Miss Jane Barclay, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Barclay, arriving with hoi' parents from Bannockburn, Scotland, in the vessel Orari in November, 1577. I hey landed at Auckland and resided tor many years in Uamaratna. Mr. Potter arrived with his parents, the late Mr. and .Mrs. J. Potter, of Birmingham, Kngland, in 1880 in the Ben Ne vis and lived in various countrv districts where Mr. Potter's father was engaged in school teaching. ■Since their resilience in Auckland Mrs. Potter has been interested in church work and is a member of the Balmoral Presbyterian Church. Mr. Pctter is a Freemason and is a member ot several lodges. Mr. and Mrs. Potter had one son, now deceased, and they have three grandchildren.
