SERVICE IN LAST WAR
Sir, —I have just completed my enrolment form and it would appear that the authorities are totally indifferent to the service I have already given to the Umpire, no provision being made on the form for stating this information. I am rather proud of my four years' overseas service, which was given voluntarily, and I am willing to do mv hit once more, but I do think I am entitled to bo placed in a different category to the man who has never lifted his finger in the defence of our Empire and who, oven at this late stage, is siill not a member of any of our defence organisations. I suppose what really hurts most of all is being told to do one's duty now by people who failed miserably to do theirs during the last war and have now sprouted wings. Ex-Dig.
