AIRMAN KILLED
CRASH IN DARKNESS TRAINING AS PILOT AT WIGRAM [BY TELEGBAPH-PRESS ASSOCIATION"] WELLINGTON, Friday The Air Department announced today that an airman-pilot under training, the sole occupant of an aircraft engaged in night flying exercises at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Wigram, was killed at 3.10 a.ra when the aircraft crashed two miles from the aerodrome. The victim was:— Leading-Aircraftman Allan Henry McIver, a son to Mr. R. J. Mclver, of Palmerston North. It is believed the pilot overshot tlio flarepath, and during his recovery flew into the ground. A court of inquiry is being set up. DEATH AFTER ILLNESS PATROLMAN AT WHEXUAPAI [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION"] WELLINGTON, Friday The Air Department announces that after a serious illness of some weeks a patrolman attached to the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Whenuapai died in the Auckland Hospital yesterday. He was L. A. C. Scliwartfeger Stanton. His next of kin is a sister, Mrs. M. Bell, of Matamata.
