Tyrone Power and Linda Darnell will appear together in 20th Century-Fox's drama "Blood and Sand." Mary Eickford and Buddy Ropers, her Inisj&WKl, are taking n well-earned rest. Mary Pick ford lias been working hard lor the Chinese relief fund. Many film-goers will remember Norma Shearer in "The Trial of Mary Dugan." Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is re-making the film with its new hope, Laraine Day, in the original Miss Shearer role. Two "Dr. Kildare" films are scheduled for 11)11. The first is "Dr. Kildare Goes Home." and it will be followed by "Dr. Kildare's Crisis." Robert Young will play a prominent role in the second film. This year will yield a bumper crop of musicals. Among those to watch for are "Sunny," with Anna Neagle, Edward Everett Morton and Ray Bolger, and "The Great American Broadcast," with Alice Kayo. Cesar Romero. Jack Oakie and John Payne.
Jeanette Mac Donald and Nelson Eddy's first 1941 musical will be a technicolour version of Noel Coward's favourite stage success "Bitter Sweet." Passing through Minneapolis en route to Chicago for a personal appearance in conjunction with tin* screening of her latest picture, "Northwest Mounted Police," Madeline Carroll stated that she plans to leave America shortly to return to her own country, England. Her mother lives in England, and her sister was killed in a London air raid recently.
