About the Competition
(PEAR BOYS AND GIRLS SUCH, a difficult task Grey Malcolm and I had last week-end. I expect you can guess what it was—the judging of the Dutch Tile Competition. You will no doubt realise why it was so difficult when you hear that out of ,over 450 entries 370 were correct! So age, neatness of writing and painting or crayoning and colour scheme had to be taken into consideration in the final decision. All the entries were beautifully neat and tidy and in the end a magnifying glass had to be broU'ght into use to detect the tiniest blots and paint over the edges. But finally the eight best entries were picked out and very good ones they were, too. But I do hope those less fortunate competitors won't be disappointed. Of course we would love to give consolation prizes, hut 362! We'rr sorry hut it just can't be managed. And now holidays just seem to be flying away into the bluo and what *plendid fun is being crowded into these last happy days. So many members have been in to see me this time and al! are eager to tell me of their seaside vacations, or days at the zoo or the pictures. It has been such splendid fun meeting all the boys and girls ; these /""M ? holidays. I just love to see you all. ""l/ V I 6. I 0 U But soon we must all hurry back to II ft L O •fjvork again, so let's have as much fun (7 I LfvCand jollity as we can now. J Love and happy days of sunshine * " •to you all from,
