OBITUARY

MR. ALFRED PEARCE

[by telec;ifM'ir —own couhdsj-oxdent] HAWRRA, Monday The death has occurred at I'atea of Mr. Alfred I'earce, aged 78. In Jiis youth he made a name as an all-round athlete, lie was a powerful wrestler and a representative footballer for Taranaki in .1885, 1887 and IBSB. lie was a member of the team that heat Stoddard's .English team in 'IBBB. Mr. Pearce was also a keen bowler, He was one of the founders of the Kakaramea Dairy Company, being chairman for 30 years. He is survived by his widow and one son.
