WORK FOR PENSIONERS
Sir, —I have been much interested in the letters regarding homes for pensioners, and would like to thalik those who have interested themselves in our welfare. - 1 would also like to suggest that a pensioner should be allowed to earn £ 1 per week independent of board and lodging. Many people are quite willing to pay a small wage as well as board and lodging and if they do the Government benefits not the pensioner who is doing the work, as the wage is deducted from his pension. Now, when there is a shortage of labour, many people need help that a pensioner is quite capable of giving, and would willingly pay for it. Food and clothing is dear and will get dearer, and it would help the pensioners considerably to he able to supplement their pensions in this wav. O.A.P.
