TWICE INJURED
OFFICER IN EGYPT. BOMB AND CAR ACCIDENT Further ' details of the injuries suffered by Captain W. J. Foster, E.D., of Te Akatea, Nganiawahia, when he was hit by shrapnel from a bomb in Egypt on October 31, are contained in an air mail letter from a member of his unit, which was received in Auckland yesterday. Captain Foster, who went overseas with the Main Body in the Great War, was the first New Zealand officer to bo injured in Egypt in the present war. :. The letter states that enemy bombers came over and dropped bombs around Captain Foster and his men. He was hit by shrapnel a bomb which landed a few yaTrds away. None pf his wounds was serious,« but he suffered from shock and was taken to the Field Ambulance. '.
From there he was transferred by motor-car, which was involved in & collision with an Egyptian army truck. The top of the car was torn off, and the driver was killed. Captain Foster suffered further injuries to the head and face, and another man-in the back seat had a leg fractured. Captain Foster is progressing well.
