COUNTIES ASSOCIATION
FIRST BIRTHDAY BALL ENJOYABLE CELEBRATION Celebrating (lie first birthday of the English Counties Association, a ball was held at tlie Mctropolo last night. Beprcsentatives were present from the Birmingham and Midland Counties, Devon and Cornwall, Gloucester and Somerset, and Cumberland and Westmorland Associations, and the Lancashire and Yorkshire Societies. Bowls of spring flowers in the lounge and supper room, combined with the softly diffused lighting in the cabaret, made a delightful setting for the party. In addition to modern and old-time dances, a ballet, arranged by Miss Irene Long, was enjoyed by the guests. The president of the Counties Association, Mr. IT. G. Staley, and Mrs. Stnlcy acted as host and hostess. Assisting them were the following committee members: —Mr. and Mrs. L. Radclifl'o, .Air. and Mrs. H. V. Hampton, Mrs. liroadbent, Mrs. J. L. Cantwell, Mrs. M. M. Hatchings. Messrs. J. Ashworth, E. Gregory. W. Perkins, M. Ward and W. Hatch.
