RIGHTS OF WORKERS
SELECTING EMPLOYERS The contention that workers should be free to choose their own employers was advanced by Mr. J. Guiniven at a meeting of the Waitemata ElectricPower Board, when a circular was received from the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association requesting the discouragement of the practice of workers in key positions in essential industries leaving to take positions in less important industries. Mr. Guiniven moved that the board tako no action. Employers, he said, were free to choose the workers they preferred, and it was only right that the employees should have the same freedom in selecting their employers. Further, they should not hinder a man who was seeking to advance himself. The motion was passed unanimously.
