HOTEL THEFTS
VISIT PAID TO BOOMS ACCUSED FOR SENTENCE [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday Three charges of theft from rooms in the Commercial Hotel, Hamilton, on November 15, were preferred against a motor driver, Cecil Arthur Heusley, aged 35, of 347 Armagh Street, Christchureh, in the Hamilton Police Court this morning, before Messrs. G. K. Sinclair and T. G. Reynolds, J.P.'s. Accused was discharged from the Army as unfit on November 14, stated Detective J. Thomson, who prosecuted, and he appeared in Court in uniform only because he had not. yet got any other clothes. Constable F. I?. Henry produced statements made to the polir-e by accused, in which he admitted the thefts. Accused said that while under the influence of liquor he entered some of the hotel rooms, taking £7 10s in cash and three military badges valued at 7s 6d from one room, a lady's handbag and contents of «a total value of £3 8s from another, and 19s cash and a photo from a third. Accused pleaded guilty to all charges and was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence.
