DRAMATIC CLUB
THREE PLAYS PRESENTED Three plays presented by the Workers' Educational Association Dramatic Club at the old Grammar School. Symonds Street last night, were fullyappreciated by the audience. The plays will again be performed to-night and to-morrow night. The programme opened with a play by the Belgian. Maurice Maeterlinck, "The Intruder," translated from the French and set in an old country house. Good performances were given by all tho players, the part of the grandfather being particularly well portrayed. A Biblical play, "The Sixth Hour" by Wilfrid Grantham, was an impressive production, a feature of which was the lighting effects at the close, when, with the hall in darkness, the Cross was projected on to the eyclorama. Ths scene was a room in Judas' house on the morning of the Crucifixion, and the roles of Judas, and Sarah, the daughter o£„ Caiaphas, the High Priest, and Leah, the wife of Judas, whick required careful handling, were capably interpreted by the players. Set in pre-revolutionary Russia, the comedy by Anton Chekhov, "The Bear," was the final presentation.
