HEADMASTER'S DEATH

MR. WILLIAM F. ABEL PROMINENT OTAGO TEACHER [by telegraph—press association] • DTJNEDIN, Tuesday The death occurred this morning of Mr. William Fulton Abel, aged 64, for the past 11 years headmaster of Musselburgh School. Mr. Abel entered the teaching profession as a pupil teacher in 1892 and .throughout his career as a teacher remained under the Otago Education Board.

Mr. Abel was for many years secretary of the Otago branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute and was Dominion president in the year of the institute's jubilee. He was a keen bowler. He is survived by his wife, one son, who is a mining engineer on the Malay Peninsula, and one daughter.
