Behind the Wheel
Safety Last Stopped for riding a bicycle without a rear light, an English rider remarked, "Oh, it's all right. I have one in my pocket which I take out and show at the rear i! a car approaches." He was fined ss. Novel Evidence A ping pong ball cemented into the trumpet of a stethoscope is used to show the smoothness of Chrysler finishes. When rubbed thereon, practically no sound results. On various other surfaces, the noise is appreciable. Care of Distributor The high-tension rotor in the centre of the distributor for battery and coil ignition sometimes becomes rusted in position. Quito how water reaches this point it is difficult to discover, for the contact and bakelite carrier are in the very centre of the distributor under the cap which holds the high-tension wires. Usually the difficulty is noticed only when the rotor, having become defective, has to he changed, but it pays occasionally to lever the rotor off with two screwdrivers and to put a little oil on the steel spigot on which the rotor is fitted. If the rotor is very tight, care should bo exercised as otherwise the bakelite may split.
