GARDEN WEDDING
A CHARMING SETTING CAIRNS-WRIGHT A charming garden wedding was celebrated on Wednesday at the home of the bride's parents, when Miss Mavis Constance Wright, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Wright, Kelvin Road, Remuera, was married to Mr. Roger Patrick Cairns, of Loudon. The Rev. J. Pattison (Pukekohe) officiated and Mrs. G. Pollock played the wedding march. A solo was sung by Mrs. T \y. James. The ceremony was performed on the lawn amid flowers and phoenix palms, and was witnessed bv over 100 relatives and friends. The bride, who was given awav by her father, wore a trained gown of <oft magnolia'pink satin with a matching veil. She carried a sheaf of pink carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Wright and Nurse Irene Gill, who wore pale nink satin-striped marquisette troeks and picture hats to. tone Ihev each carried a sheaf of pink charm dahlias. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Jackson Cato and Mr. Bruce Wright. The reception was held \ na marquee where Mr. and Mrs. Wright received the guests. Mr. and Mrs.* Fred May represented the bridegroom s mother and relatives, who reside in England. Mrs Wright wore a smart bmck Anglaise taffeta frock and a black oicture hat. She carried a bouquet ot lilv of the valley. Many toasts were, honoured at the reception, one to the members of the second echelon of whom several were present. The. bride travelled later in a clover suit with furs and a black hat and black accessories.
