NEW SOUTH WALES DECLINE SYDNEY, Jan. 3 The deaths in, road accidents in New South Wales in the Christmas and New Year holidays were a little more than half those of the same period of last year, when 31 people were killed. Tho traffic authorities claim that the improved figures were duo to. official advice and warnings issued to motorists.
500 LIVES LOST WILD AMERICAN SEASON NEW YORK, Jan. 2 A total of 500 deaths by violence occurred in the course of America's Christmas and New Year celebrations. They included 292 traffic fatalities, 40 deaths from suicide, and 28 cases of homicide.. It was . the wildest season since 1929. It is estimated that 15,000,000 dollars .were spent, in New York.
