Veterans' Eulogies

Veteran members of the Automobile 'Association (Auckland) sent many eulogies to tiie last meeting of the council, offering congratulations regarding the formation of the veterans' division. Several of tho letters embodied a humorous touch, and all wished the association continued .success. One veteran, thanking the association for the honour conferred 011 him, commented that in these days of greatly increased taxes, which extended even to higher funeral expenses, it was indeed unusual to find that ho was no longer required to find a subscription for a worthy purpose. The association's ' latest membership figures are 33,191, compared with 32,974 last month.
