OBITUARY
MR. C. S. FRASER [BY TKLKCJIAPR —I'ItKSS ASSOCIATION*] TMARTJ, Friday The death has occurred of Mr. Charlton Simon Fraser, aged 87. He was closely identified with the early life of Timarii, particularly sport. He was a son of Judge John Fraser of the Supreme Court at Hongkong. Mr. Fraser came to New Zealand as a young man, taking up a commercial career. For many years he was secretary of the South Canterbury Jockey Club and was founder of one of the first Rugby clubs in Now Zealand. For one season he was New Zealand tenuis champion, defeating Mr. F. C. Wilding, father of Mr. Anthony Wilding. Mr. Fraser was an ardent philatelist, at one time possessing one of the finest collections in the Dominion.
MISS 0. M. CRUICKSHANK The death has occurred at Christchurch of Miss C. M. Cruiekshank, for 21 years head-mistress of Wanganui Girls' College prior to her retirement in 1981. A brilliant scholar, Miss Cruiekshank was dux of Otago Girls' High School and later took the Master of Arts degree at Otago University. She engaged in primary school teaching for a period and then was appointed an assistant on the staff of Prince Albert College, Auckland. Miss Cruiekshank later entered Auckland University College, where she obtained the Master of Science degree. Subsequently she taught on the staffs of the Otago and Timaru Girls' High Schools, and was for five years principal of Southland Girls' High School before being appointed to Wanganui Girls' College.
