ITALY AND SPAIN

SOLI DARSTY REAFFIRMED "NEVER BE SEPARATED" (Received November 15, 9.30 p.m.) ROME, Nov. 15 In a preface to a book containing General Franco's speeches, Count Ciano, Italian Foreign Minister, reaffirms the solidarity of Italy and Spain, and Italy's pride in having fought with the Spanish Nationalists against the "Bolshevist virus." He emphasises that Italy also fought to enable Spain to regain her strength and the balancing function which she should exercise in Europe's life. Italy and Spain will never be separated, he says, because common ideals and interests "lie deep in the hearts of the two peoples."
