She would liko to know if there is any way of restaining the table. Removing Ink Stains Hub with a solution of oxalic acid on a cloth (one teaspoon to a cup of water) and if any still remains rub again with some solution of chloride of lime (one teaspoon to a cup of water). " K.G." (Takapuna) has forwarded directions for knitting a. heelless sock, which can he worn baclc to front and so distribute the wear. The directions were issued by the official lied Cross (Queensland) during the Great War. Heavy wool. ]\o 12 needles. Cast on 21 stitches on three needles and knit in rib of .'1 plain, purl for Jive inches. Knit plain lor five or six inches according to length of leg, then knit rib of plain. .3 purl for seven inches. Divide stitches as follows: 36 on front needle, 18 on each back needle. Knit, plain for five or six inches, according to length of foot, and finish off the toe in the usual «nv.
