WORK OF BRANCHES NORTHCOTE COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the Northcote Plunket Committee last week night was presided over by the president, Mrs. A. Campbell. The nurse, Miss J. Bursell, reported that during the month of October, 1-14 visits had been made to tlio Plunket rooms and that she find visited 15 homes. Voluntary transport was provided by Miss M. Lepper. A letter was received from the Auckland headquarters thanking the Northcote committee for a donation of £'s toward the additional nursing fund. Members decided to offer their services as collectors at the wharf on the occasion of flag day in aid of the National Patriotic Fund.
The convenor, Mrs. P. J. Hawke, reported that the arrangements for the annual children's party under the auspices of the Truby King Junior League were well advanced. During the month of October sewing for the Karitane Home had been undertaken by Mrs. H. Speight, Mrs. G. Hart, Mrs. F. G. Duncan, Mrs. J. Lethbridge and Mrs. G. Perrett. DEVONPORT At tho final monthly meeting of the Devonport branch held at the home of the president, Mrs. H. Corbett, at Devonport last week, it was proposed that a donation of £5 5s be given to the Karitane Hospital. It was also decided that tho children's fancy dress party arranged for this month* should be postponed until early next year. The nurse's report for October was as follows:—New cases, 6; visits to homes, 6G; visits to office, adults, 426; babies, 354; older children, 68; total. 84S.
