PRESENTATION OP PLAYS PENWOMEN'S CLUB EVENING MUSIC AND DRAMA CIRCLES Two original one-act plays by mcm~ bers of tlio club, and a number of musical items, combined to make a most enjoyable programme for the last gathering"of the year of the music and drama circles of the Penwomen's Club last night. The president, Mrs. Nello Porter, who presided, paid a tribute to tlio combined circles, not only for the excellent programme presented, but also I'or the work they had carried out during the year. The lir.sfc plav, by Mrs. Una Craig, was entitled " Not In Office Hours," and the scene was the office of a theatre where auditions were taken. Highly amusing and with ample scope for humorous acting, the parts were ably taken by Mrs. M. Carte-Lloyd, Miss Toss Carte-Lloyd, Miss Joan Clinton, Miss Patricia Boylo and Mr. Gilbert O'Sullivan. "A Storm in a Teacup" was the title of the second play, which was written by Mrs. F. M. Fisher, and which depicted a farcical scene in the receiving room of a maternity home. In this presentation were: Mrs. E. M. Woods, Mrs. J. Cray, Mrs. M. Colegrave, Mrs. W. Osborne, Mrs. Pearce, Mrs. Boyle and Mr. Norman Laud.
Other items presented were songs-by Mrs. Elsie Bell-Booth and Mr. John Cordon and recitations by Miss Patricia Boyle. The programme had been arranged by Mrs. L. Booth and Mrs. W. H. McKinnev, conveners of the drama and musical circles.
