"Forget all about boards and councils, if 3*ou will, but keep always in your minds the picture of tho soldier, his responsibilities, his sufferings and his sacrifice," the chairman states. "I am confident that New Zealand will not fail him."

A national advisory council, Sir. Jordan adds, has already commenced its duties. It has appointed committees for specific purposes, and has made representations to the Minister of Internal Affairs. The chairman then deals with the power vested in tho Minister to exempt any patriotic purpose from being subject to tho conditions set out in tho regulations. Tho Minister, lib states, has already exercised this power to grant exemption covering the raising of money for local presentations to soldiers, and the holding of farewell functions in their honour.
Mr. Jordan concludes by saying that tho people of the Dominion may rest assured that any money contributed by them will be spent in tho best interests of tho men in the forces.
