HARBOUR RECEIPTS
INCREASE LAST MONTH NO WAR-TIME DECLINE Unexpectedly, the Auckland Harbour Board's receipts in October had shown no decrease, said the chairman, Mr. W. B. Darlow, when commenting at a meeting of the board yesterday on wartime effects upon revenue. He also remarked that the board continued to perform its business very smoothly and that no confusion! had resulted in the board's harbour control.
It was reported that cash receipts for October wore at the satisfactory aggregate of £42,822, an increase of £6/2 in the Waitemata Harbour account and one of £129 in the Manukau Harbour account, compared with October of last year. Rents and shipping charges had shown a slight increase, and goods wharfage, storage and dock and slipway duos were lower.
