GAS INSTITUTE
MEETING IN AUCKLAND SIXTY DELEGATES EXPECTED The 16th annual meeting of the Gas Institute of New Zealand, members of which arc engineers, managers and chemists associated with the gas industry, will begin in Auckland to-day. The meeting and associated functions, which will last until Friday, will he the first held in Auckland since 1925. It is expected that about 60 delegates from all parts of New vSealand and their wives will attend.
An official welcome "by the Mayor of Auckland, Sir Ernest Davis, will take place at 11.30 o'clock this morning at the Auckland University College. _ The annual report and balance-sheet will be presented at noon, and at 12.30 delepates will be entertained to luncheon by the Auckland Gas Company, Limited. A motor tour has been arranged for this afternoon. The presidential address by Mr. G. 11. E. Collins, of Auckland, will be given to-night, and will be followed by the president's reception and supper. Two papers will he read to-morrow morning and a third to-morrow night. Industrial visits will occupy the afternoon. Further business and visits will take place on Friday, and the final meeting will be held in the afternoon.
