DEATH OF CYCLIST

Ono of Auckland's most promising yountr cyclists, K. Picknell, died in (he Auckland Hospital last Thursday. Picknell. who was only 18 years of ago. met with greater success than most riders of his aire. He commenced his career.as it junior competitor in 1030, his first major success being a victory in the Marlnkau Club's 44 miles harbour race, at the ujie ol 15. Ho also won an open junior 13% miles .event. In 103S he secured second place in tho Auckland championship of 100 miles, and this season won the 37 miles raco to Papatoetoe. He contested his last raco ia September, when ho was uuplaced.
