SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP FIRST SERIES. TO CONCLUDE ATTRACTIONS AT EDEN PARK , The first series of matches under the cqntrol of the Auckland Cricket; Association' will be concluded this afternoon. With perhaps the exception of the North • Shore-Middlemore game at North Shore, all the finishes should be interesting. Y.M.C.A: appears to- have the advantage over Pnrncll on No. 8 wicket at Eden Park, having made 234 in its first. innings, while Parnell has lost four valuable wickets for 46 runs. In the gaino on No. 4 wicket at Eden Park oil her of the leams has a chanco of securing an out right- victory. University compiled 88 iii its .first innings, to which Grufton replied with the small score of 55. University has scored two runs without loss in its second innings. Ponsonby-Balmoral has an even chance of securing a win over Eden at Papatoetoc. The former made 108, and at stumps last week Eden hud lost four wickets for 3!) runs. Middlemore has a handy lead over North Shore, the latter having been dismissed for 101, to. which Middlemore replied with 180 for five wickets. . Lower grado competitions will also be played. The batting times in the second and intermediate grades will bo equally divided. The team batting first ceases its innings at 4.10 p.m. and the team batting second commences its innings at 4.20 p.m., the matches being played under the one-day rule.
