TROTTING BREVITIES f NEWS FROM ALL SOURCES Although To Roto failed to gain a place in tho improvers' Handicap nt Epsom last Saturday, he ran a very creditable raco from 21yds bhd. On tho same lino and with a ficid only half the size he should have cood prospects at Hutt Park to-day. Snowy Bingcn, who claims two engagements at Hutt Park, luls had a good deal of racing experience at botli pacing and trotting. Two seasons ago he at times revealed rare speed in hopples, but was unreliable. The same difficulty was experienced last season, when he raced as a trotter. Snowy Bingen is back to pacing again.
Tho good three-year-old Three Tens, who has a record of ono win and four seconds in his Inst five starts, four of which wore in classic races, will be well tested at Hhtt Park, where, ho is to tackle many older and more experienced rivals, some of whom have displayed lino form. In spite of his big task Three Tens should give a good account of himself.
Indianapolis, a winner of three New Zealand Cups and , tho Frec-for-AII, has heen accorded a nomination in tho latter raco at the coming meeting, but his name does hot appear in tho other lists. On anything ho has done in tho last 12 months, Indianapolis may rightly bo placed among tho discards. Last yoar Indianapolis in five starts won £SO. and in 17 starts in two years lias won ono raco.
Tho Riccarton Stakes, to bo run on tho first day at Addington, is for. thrco-yenr-olds that have not won a race, and. among tho maidens it represents a good trial for tho New Zealand Derby on the second day. Beforo the race is run, however, there will bo afforded chances for some of tho-e engaged to lose thoir maiden status and become ineligible to start. Racing at AVollington to-day may havo some effect on the composition of the field
Tho arrival of Lawn Derby is eagerly awaited in Hie south, and the presenco or tho Australian champion will bo a feature of Addington racing. Lawn Derby has only ono victory in a race in Now Zealand to his credit, but it must bo remembered ho has done a mile in 1.50 2-s—a record unequalled tn tho Southern Hemisphere. Jt should not he forprotlen that in last years New Zealand Cup ho gave away 00yds to a field almost as good as lie will meet this timo from 30yds bhd.
