CROQUET CLUBS
OPENING OF SEASON Beautiful weather prevailed for tho opening of the Te Rore Croquet Club on Wednesday. Mrs. J. Butterworth, senior ])resident, on behalf of tho members, welcomed the guests, and Mrs L. E. llice, vice-president, played tho first ball. Competitions were won as follows: —Ladder croquet, Mrs. C. Edwards (Oliaupo); "hurry scurry," ]\lrs. C. Cochrane and Mrs. T. McCallum (Ngahinopouri); clock croquet, Mrs. T. McCallum; ball on tho stick, Mrs. H. Hall; progressive croquet, Mrs. Ryan.
