AGROUND IN FOG
LINER'S BACK BROKEN ALL ON BOARD SAFE SEQUEL TO RISKY VOYAGE (Received October 10, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 10 After safolv crossing 7000 miles of war zone waters with a valuable cargo of foodstuffs, the Blue Star liner lonic Star (5594 tons) went aground in a thick fog on a sandbank 18 miles off the western coast of England. The vessel's back is broken. The passengers and crew were rescued uninjured, and salvagers are now endeavouring to save sonie of the cargo. The lonic Star was inward bound from South America. TRADE WITH ICELAND (Received October JO, 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless LONDON, Oct. IS An Icelandic delegation, headed by M. Swein Bjoernsson, Icelandic Minister to Copenhagen, is now in London to discuss trade questions arising out of the \var.\ FLIGHT OVER GERMANY LONDON. Oct, 1!) The Air Ministry has announced that Royal Air Force machines made a suc-cessful-reconnaissance tligbt over northwestern Germany last night. All the machines returned safely.
