MR. JOHN BOTTRELL

The (loath has occtn'ral of_.Mr. John Bottrell, aged 85. of Waihi. • Born in St. Just, Cornwall, Mr. Bottrell followed Iho occupation of mining all his life, entering the pits at the ago of nino. When still in his toons he went to Australia and worked as a gold miiior on several fields, particularly in Victoria. On coming to New Zealand many years ago, Mr. Bottrell was employed by the Waihi (now Martha) Goid Mining Company, Limited, and remained in that employ until his retirement several years ago. Thursday The death has occurred aVWhaugarei of Mr. Lawrence Scotland Gillespie, of Wainuuikii, aged 63. Mr. Gillespie, who •was farm manager for the Guardian Trust, was visiting Whangarei for the purpose of purchasing stock.
