OFFICERS AT PI HA Resigning his position as secretary of the Pill a, Surf y Life-Saving Club after . continuous service since the club's inception in 1934, 3lr. C. 11. Holt received the thanks of members at tlie annual meeting last night. Appreciation of his work was expressed by tlie retiring president, Mr. A. M. Jackson. He said the club's assets had reached almost £6OO, and he attributed this to the work of the. secretary and to the r business acumen of past committees. In reply, Mr. Holt said the present .~g. Strength of the club, both numerically and linancialh", was a tribute to past committees, mentioning in particular Messrs. G. Adams, H. 0. Sidford, J. L. .ki Wilson and F. E. de Guervier.^ The annual report showed that regu-.'-v lar patrols had been in operation at week-ends and holidays during the whole of the swimming season, and as a result of members' vigilance 11 persons were rescued. First aid treatment was given to over 60 people, c.' -. - The following officers were elected; Patron, the Hon. H. G. R.
