USE IN EMERGENCY GOOD RESPONSE IN BRITAIN British "Wireless / LONDON, Aug. 0 •A total of 80,326 persons have enrolled in the central register set up at the Ministry of Labour to enable those with scientific, technical, professional or higher administrative qualifications to record their willingness to take part in national service in an emergency. The register is intended as a pool from which qualified experts can be drawn at need in wartime.
The two largest groups of professional volunteers are those qualified in connection with architecture and public utilities, and those trained as accountants.
For scientific research 6456 have volunteered.
