INSTITUTE SECRETARY HOSPITALITY ABROAD TOUR OF GREAT BRITAIN [from our own correspondent] LONDON, Juno 27 As links secretary for the Dominion Federation of New Zealand Women's Institutes, Mrs. E. S. M. McNaughton, of Tauranga, has, during her travels, found a great many English women's institutes interested in making contact with New Zealand. Since attending the conference of the Associated Country Women of the World, in London, Mrs. McNaughton has been travelling in Wales, Northern England and Scotland. Mrs. McNaughton went to Gloucester, her hostess taking her to the tea party which Lord and Lady Bledisloo gave to the New Zealand delegates. Lord Bledisloe acted as guide and showed the visitors his great collection of New Zealand flora, and his New Zealand curios, which are housed in a special room. Leeds was visited, and at Harewood the visitors were entertained to tea by the Yorkshire Federation of Women's Institutes. A visit was paid to Harewood House, the home of the Princess Royal. After leaving Durham, the New Zealand visitors were taken to Newcastle-ou-Tyne, and reached Cambo, Morpeth, where various hostesses once more met them. The Tauranga party, with three others, are all staying with Lady Trevolyan. Mrs. McNaughton will, at Auchterarder, be the guest of Lady Haldane. The next tour will be in Ireland. VISIT TO HAREWOOD PRINCESS ROYAL'S GUESTS [from our own correspondent] LONDON, June 20 A party of 30 members of the New Zealand Women's Institutes was entertained this week by the Harewood Institute. They accepted the invitation of the Princess Royal, who is president of the local institute, to visit Harewood House, and attended a "Yorkshire supper," where they sampled a home-fed ham, the gift of the Princess Royal. The New Zealanders, in the course of a tour through England, have also visited Alnwick Castle, when they were the guests of the Northumberland Institute.
