URBAN VALUATION

NEW UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA DECISION BY COUNCIL A diploma in urban valuation was approved by the Auckland University College Council yesterday as an addition to the services given by the architectural department. A set of regulations governing the diploma was submitted by Professor C. R. Knight and approved. The president, Mr. W. H. Cocker, said the college was being involved in no extra expense, the cost of the few additional lectures needed being covered by the extra fees and a promised contribution by the Institute of Valuers'. Mr. A. H. Johnstone, K.C., said ho did not approve any decision which would represent a departure from the standing policy, rather to consolidate and improve existing activities than embark on fresh ones. He also expressed a doubt that urban valuation was a university subject.
