THE POWER BOARD

GOOD RESPONSE MADE SUM OF £223,400 SUBSCRIBED FULL AMOUNT NOW IN SIGHT Good progress is being made with the raising of the Auckland ElectricPower Board's loan of £290,000 at 4J per cent with a term of 20 years, and by the end of this week it is expected that the amount will be fully subscribed. So far £223,400 has been subscribed. Since June 6, when the loan opened, applications • each day have totalled about £7350. All the investments have been small, with the exception of one of £20,000. The board decided at a meeting yesterday that immediately the £290,000 had been received, further application would not be accepted. "First in, first served," said the chairman, Mr. S. J. Harbutt.
