LABOUR IN BRITAIN CONTEMPLATED PURGE - Independent Cable Service (Received February 23, 9.5 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 23 The Labour Party intends to begin forthwith a purge of supporters of Sir Stafford Cripps—who was expelled from the party recently—and his Popular Front policy, says the Evening Standard. A split in the Socialist ranks is inevitable, as a number of big unions are expected to line up with Sir Stafford.
